CHARACTER ANIMATION: THE COOKIE STORY
This animation was based upon a story by Douglas Adams which he claims to be a true story (although many other versions of it exist by other people.) For the backgrounds, in a nod to Adams, I wanted to give the feel of a lush English city park and a rural English train station.
The characters and backgrounds were all drawn in Illustrator. The Animation was done in Adobe Animate (formerly Flash).
KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY: DEPRESSION GLASS
This example of kinetic typography incorporates not only moving type but illustrated type, and typography intended to evoke images. The beauty and simplicity of the words this poem, Depression Glass, by National Poet Laureate Ted Kooser, resonated with me. Instead of being a frenetic sort of kinetic typography, I hope to evoke a soft-edged peacefulness to couple with the nostalgia of the poem.

SIMPLE SHAPES FUN: MY CRAYON BOX OF BRIGHT COLORS
A whimsical shape animation created just for fun. I enjoyed having the shapes become rhythmic representations of the musical tempo.
